Pay per Minute Prepay Mobile phones
With Pay per Minute phones you will purchase a phone card that will usually come with a certain number of minutes. The biggest companies within the Pay per minute are Tracfone Prepaid and Net 10. When you add the minutes you will additionally receive a time period to use the minutes in. For example with a $30 Net10. card you will receive 300 units and 60 days of activation time. If you do not use all of your units before the 60 days is up you will have to purchase and add another phone card in order to use the remaining minutes. On the other hand if you talk or text through all of your minutes you will want to add another unit card even when you have service time left.
Pay per Day Prepaid Cellular Plans
The Pay by the Day model is definitely most popular with the big Long term contract Cell phone providers such as Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile and At&t. With this system you will generally pay $1 per day and be able to make any number of calls to anyone on their phone network. As an example Verizon Wireless Prepay allows their prepaid customers to dial up everybody with a Verizon Wireless Prepaid account for 99 cents a day and all other calls will be ten cents a minute. The 99 cents will only incurred on the days you use the phone. You will need to spend at least $15 a thirty day period to continue to keep their service activated.
Unlimited Calling Prepay Cellular Plans
The Prepaid Unlimited use cell model is becoming more common in the last few years. The Unlimited plans began with a few small localized businesses that offered unlimited phone calls in the local area for under $50 a month. The major contract carriers formerly charged $100 plus per month to get unlimited use. Cricket and Boost Mobile were some of the first to offer unlimited prepaid cell phone plans. Straight Talk Wireless has rapidly become the largest provider in unlimited cell usage. They have a $45 a month Unlimited pay as you go cell plan that uses the Verizon Network.

The Prepaid model that Tracfone uses is the Cost per Minute structure. You purchase minutes and at the same time you will get a service period to use those minutes.
You buy the Tracfone phone and a Minute card. You can only use a Tracfone Cellular phone for Tracfone prepaid service, you cannot use a Verizon, At&t, T-Mobile, Alltel, Net10 or any other phone with Tracfone Service. The Tracfone SIM card will not work in any other phone either.
Then you activate the phone by calling Tracfone on a land line or by using the internet.
You will have to key in some numbers into your phone and then it is active. It is really easy.
Next you will add a Tracfone Minute Card. You will key in the 15 digit PIN code into your phone.
When adding a minute card if you use a five digit Bonus Code you might get more minutes. Check out the Tracfone Bonus Codes.

How Tracfone Service Time Works
Most Tracfone cards will put 90 service days onto your phone along with the minutes. You must have both minutes and service time on your phone to use it. The remaining Tracfone minutes always show on the display of your phone. The Service end date will also scroll onto your screen. It normally says "Add Airtime by 12/21/10 or service ends." hwtracwrks
Buying Tracfone Minutes
Tracfone minute cards come in different sizes. The different options are $20, $30, $40, $80, $100 and $200. The larger the amount of the cards the cheaper the minutes. With the first four cards you will add 90 days of service time with the card. The twenty dollar card gives you three minutes per dollar and the eighty dollar card gives you 5.8 minutes per dollar. These numbers double with DMFL. The $100 and $200 cards extend your service by twelve months.

Tracfone Service Time and Minutes Roll Over
If you add minutes or service time before your phone has completely run out both the minutes and service time will carry forward. For instance if you have 20 minutes and 60 days left on your Tracfone and you add a 120 minute phone card you will end up with 140 minutes and 150 days left. If you have DMFL you would end up with 260 minutes (2+120+120) and 150 days of service.

Childrens Cell Phone
Which way for your Childrens Cell Phone? Contract or Prepaid which is better?
We have all heard Horror stories about Children's Cell Phones.
A friend of mine's son met a girl in Canada online and started calling and talking to her all the time. He had had his phone for several months but up until then had mainly been talking to friends that were on Verizon. Before mom even found out he had run up a $1200 phone bill in less than a month. By the time she got it stopped he had run up another $1000. She was able to get Verizon to knock some of the bill down but she still paid over $1200 for her son's international calling.
I strongly recommend a prepaid phone for your childs first cell phone experience. Your child can only spend the money that has already been placed on the phone. When they run over their minutes they lose access to their phone. You will never get a $400 or $1200 bill because your child sent 2000 text messages or talked for an hour to someone in Mexico.

Net 10 Prepaid is a division of Tracfone.
The best Deal on Net10 cell phones is usually at the Net10.com Website.
Right now they have the Nokia 1100 phone with 300 minutes for $19.99. This comes out to 6.66 cents per minute. This is the cheapest Pay as you go minutes you will find anywhere.
Net10 only offers GSM phones. These are the phones that take the little SIM card. This card is usually installed below the battery. Net10 as of November 2007 has just started offering CDMA phones also.
Net 10 does not own cell phone towers. They have contracts with AT&T (formerly Cingular), T-Mobile Alltel, Verizon, and several other companies to use their networks. When you set up your phone it will be set up to work on one of these networks. The Net10 Phones will roam from T-Mobile to At&t without charging you extra. At this time the T-Mobile prepaid phones will not roam so if you are not in T-Mobile coverage area your T-Mobile Prepaid will not work.
You can also purchase Net 10 Prepaid Cellular phones at Walmart, Safeway, Target, and many convenience stores around the country. I have never seen them as cheap in a store as they are at the Net10.com Website.
Net10 Prepaid Phone Cards
To add minutes to your Net10 Pay as you Go phone you can buy minute cards at almost any Walmart, Target, or gas station. Also you can purchase and install minutes on your phone at the Net10 Prepaid Website.
You can also install minutes on your Net10 phone by punching the PIN code after going to "add airtime" on your phone's prepaid menu.
Net 10 Prepaid Review Summary
Net10 is a better, simpler deal than Tracfone. If you use 100 plus minutes a month it is much simpler and cheaper to buy and use a Net 10.com Cell Phone.
NET10 is the best prepaid cell phone service for most people. If you use less than 100 minutes a month then Tracfone would be a little cheaper for you. The Net10 phones really are Pay as you Go Made Simple.
The LG 225 Camera Phone from Both Tracfone and NET10 is a great phone. This phone works if you live in an area covered by the GSM networks like AT&T and T-Mobile.
